Final USA Basketball cut announced

Unsurprisingly, Bruce Bowen did not make the final roster for the World Championships. Bowen has been playing a limited amount of minutes, which gave away that he would be the final cut for the team after Gilbert Arenas had sit out with a groin injury.

The Charlotte Bobcats unveiled their new alternate road jersey. The new jersey is “blue as the predominant color and accented by the team’s other official colors of Bobcats Orange, black and silver”.

Ron Artest started his community service hours for the biggest fight in NBA history. Artest took the time to read to children and explain his reason behind the fight. Artest claims that Ben Wallace started trouble and that he was the one to end it. “”I would always encourage you to protect yourself but in certain situations, if you can avoid them, avoid them.”

Bo Outlaw has been re-signed by the Orlando Magic, extending his second stint with the team. I was surprised to see that even though this will be Outlaw’s thirteenth season, he has never average double-figures in points or rebounds.

The New York Knicks are hoping to find some success after receiving a one year ultimatum. If the team doesn’t drastically improve, Isiah Thomas will lose his job as GM and head coach of the team. Stephon Marbury thinks that the extra pressure will help Thomas as well as the rest of the team work even harder.

Daily Basketball is going to be taking Friday (and possibly Saturday) off so make sure you check back Monday for a review of the weekend’s news.
