Knicks made offer for Chris Webber

The Philadelphia Sixers went to the New York Knicks hoping to unload Chris Webber and his gigantic contract, but came back with only an offer of Quentin Richardson and Maurice Taylor. The Knicks would have had to throw in another player to complete the trade.

The New Jersey Nets have officially re-signed free agent Clifford Robinson. The team didn’t pick up Robinson’s option, but the team says the re-signing will give the team some added depth. If you haven’t already, check out more NBA doodles at this great NBA blog.

Cleveland Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry says that fan favorite Anderson Varejao’s foot injury isn’t serious. It’s been just a couple weeks since Varejao suffered a minor knee injury, and it isn’t hard to imagine that Ferry will recommed Varejao sits out international play after the 2008 Olympics.

Ruben Patterson has already begun talking trash at his new home with the Milwaukee Bucks. Patterson vows to work hard in practice and help motivate his teammates. More seriously (and realistically), Patterson claims that one guy that can’t stand to be defended by Patterson is Richard Hamilton, who helped eliminate the Bucks from the playoffs earlier in the year.

Meanwhile, the Bucks announced their new court design.

The Charlotte Bobcats have re-signed Jake Voskuhl to a new two-year deal. Also, the Sacramento Kings signed free agent center Loren Woods to a contract.
