Harrington could join Pacers soon

The Indiana Pacers have apparently been given the opportunity to acquire Al Harrington (and John Edwards) in exchange for a future draft pick. A trade exception would also be involved, but the team is no longer required to throw in almost $3 million cash. The decision could come any day whether Harrington will join the team or sign somewhere else.

Drew Gooden is going to re-sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The three-year contract is worth $23 million, which is substantially less than the $10 million a year deal he was originally looking for.

The USA Basketball team  is down to only one cut before the World Championships after Gilbert Arenas strained his  groin during practive.  Bruce Bowen seems to be the favorite to be cut this weekend, but USA Basketball may want to give Bowen a chance to play in the tournament as he will likely be too old  when the Olympics come around.

USA Basketball finished with a 4-0 record during exhibition play, after beating Lithuania 111-88. Carmelo Anthony returned from his hyperextended knee injury to score 19 points and Dwyane Wade has 10 points in the first quarter.
