Eddie House joins New Jersey Nets
After having a career year with the Phoenix Suns, Eddie House has signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract to play for the New Jersey Nets. House made 123 three-pointers last year after filling a void left by the trades of Quentin Richardson and Joe Johnson.
Chris Wilcox is looking to sign a three-year deal with the Seattle Sonics. Contract negotiations are “productive” and could be for as much as $24 million.
The New Jersey Nets re-signed Clifford Robinson. Robinson was suspended during the NBA playoffs because of a drug violation, though team president Rod Thorn said Robinson was a popular member of the team (probably because of the drugs).
Tony Parker, Yao Ming (who came back early from his foot injury), and Dirk Nowitzki have been busy playing for their respective teams in the World Championships. All three have played well so far though statistics have shown players seem to play worse during the season after participation in Olympics and other events.
The Washington Wizards are unsure where they want Oleksiy Pecherov to be next season. Originally, Pecherov was going to return to play overseas for a couple years to develop, but has impressed team officials during summer league play.
