Magic re-sign Trevor Ariza

The Orlando Magic re-signed Trevor Ariza to a new contract, though the terms of the contract have yet to be announced. “We are very pleased to bring Trevor back, as he is a key part of our young core,” General Manager Otis Smith said.

Mikki Moore was sent from the Seattle Sonics to the New Jersey Nets for a second-round draft pick in 2009. Moore may end up being the veteran they play until Josh Boone recovers from his shoulder injury.

“Round Mound of Rebound” Charles Barkley is considering making another run at becoming the governor of Arkansas. The opinionated Hall-of-Famer says he’d run as a Democrat.

The Denver Nuggets are expected to sign big man Jamal Sampson. Though nothing has been confirmed, it’s believed that Sampson will be signing a league minimum contract to replace the Franciso Elson.

Ben Wallace isn’t enough for the Chicago Bulls, who’d like to add another player to play alongside Wallace and draft pick Tyrus Thomas. John Paxson said he’d like to add another frontcourt player, though no names were brought up.

The Portland Trailblazers aren’t sure where Darius Miles will be this coming season. Miles said at the end of the season that he’d like to be traded. Head coach Nate McMillian met with the underachieving small forward, but McMillan was left unsure of the player’s intentions.
