Jackie Butler now a Spur
Sadly, one of the most exciting items in the NBA doesn’t involve free agency, but Steve Nash’s new haircut. Nash says he had no particular reason for getting it cut, just that he felt like it.
The New York Knicks appear to have made their decision to let restricted free agent Jackie Butler sign with the San Antonio Spurs. It looks like the Spurs got a bargain as they signed the young center for three years and $7 million.
The Denver Nuggets are desperate to trade Kenyon Martin, and may consider him sending to the Knicks for Steve Francis. A few years ago, teams would have loved to acquire the All-Star point guard but after a few bad seasons with a huge contract, the Nuggets may want to keep looking for another trade.
That other player for the Nuggets may have been Allen Iverson, according to reports in the Denver Post. Though it’s being denied by the Sixers now, apparently the team’s coaches had hoped to make the trade for Kenyon Martin.
There was talk that the Seattle Sonics would be moving to San Jose after being sold for $425 million, but the ownership decided to sell the team for less so they’d have a better chance of keeping the team in Seattle.
